[Written in the wake of Pres. Gerald Ford's 'State of the Union' speech on January 15, 1975, and press response to Secretary of State Henry Kissinger's statement vis a vis military and oil nations. I was living and working among the politicians in Washington, D.C.]

 

It's frightening. Wisdom is definitely not encouraged to find Power and vice versa. I'm afraid that a good deal of corruption that seemed harmless over the years - little lapses of integrity, the use of advertising instead of debate to establish candidates - has created an amazingly deformed and stupid machine.
