1988-2018: The Planned Environment Therapy Trust years
In 1988 I was asked to help the Planned Environment Therapy Trust think through the issues involved in creating a repository for records relating to the work of planned environment therapy. What came out of that was The Planned Environment Therapy Trust Archive and Study Centre, which kicked off in 1989. The Trust asked me to get it going, and I was there, through thick or thin, to the end of 2018. The Trust had entered into a process of winding itself up and handing its assets and the Archive and Study Centre as a going concern to the Mulberry Bush Organisation; and my last day on site was December 18, 2018. As a cricket lover, round numbers are important; the aesthetic and emotional pleasure of completing 30 years can't be over-stated.
This section of the web-site is given over to those 30 years. Not in any systematic way, unless a fox-hunt-style walking poem structure emerges because Nature loves a structure; but as a place for documents and reflection. I'm mindful that not everyone has the privilege of creating such an institution from scratch; and I am mindful that I have a lot to learn from looking back over the experience.
