and rain again

And rain again.

A plump young thrush

  picks among the fallen leaves

     banked against the patio wall

feeding on a task

        left for another time.

Winter

     the sharp angled sunlight

               day light twilight

                      cold rain again

     slugs under warm blankets

           overturned;

exposed on wet stone,

       wet half-moons

                 of expectation.
