Some tree, a dark impression, asked to be painted.
another and another and another crowding on the sky
became a wood, a french moon came
to be painted:
"I have come with clouds and rain to
soften my aspeckt in
the sky."
A bird replied.
"You are a pearl," I said, and laying on the ground with her
up over my shoulder looked across the
city, river-misted in.
The bird again replied;
a rose upon the city lip, a flower
like a seagull flight
upon the forest landed:
"Pearl," it said
"I love the moon tonight."
and trees replied in quiet sigh
of windows on the wind.
